Parents of College Students Your priority has always been your children and now that they are entering college they have become our priority. We are here to assist you with paying for their education. Direct PLUS Loans - A federal student loan for parents of undergraduate students can help you cover the costs of education. The initial cost of attendance at a school can be overwhelming. Don't panic. The cost of attendance at a school can include the following items:
Your child may have a part-time job to help cover miscellaneous expenses. You may be able to assist your child with month to month expenses or they may be able to live at home to save money. So the initial cost for enrolling your child in classes are tuition, fees, and books. Your school's financial aid office will be able to use the information you submitted on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), along with the cost of attendance, to determine your child's financial need. Your financial aid officer will then inform you of what financial aid your child qualifies for, in the form of grants, federal work study, some school and state-based scholarships, and federal student loans. If your financial aid does not cover all of the costs of attendance , you can then explore a federal parent PLUS loan, savings, home equity, retirement funds, and private loans. |
